Job description
This is the perfect role for you if you get excited by the idea of working for a variety of start-ups and scale-ups.
You will help them to grow and professionalise, by providing solid HR advise on a range of topics and being their go-to people person.
About 7people
You are considering joining 7people. We are a People and Culture consultancy, helping organizations to become irresistible. We help start-ups and scale-ups with growing or improving their company, by proving advice and support on all aspects of their HR Strategy and the employee journey.
We work with a number of great companies and we keep being asked for more... :). This is why we are looking for an additional team member.
Your Role
As People and Culture Lead you will provide our clients with advice on how to set up their people & culture processes - which drive engagement and company performance.
You create the strategy and overall people plan. At the same time you are executing your advice, making it practical and impactful.
You work with founders, managers and HR colleagues at these clients. No assignment is the same!
- You will be involved the strategy, analysing the priorities of our client at the start of each assignment, and defining the action plan and next steps.
- Then you will translate this into a practical plan - which can include training, guidelines, templates as well as the day-to-day implementation of (new) HR processes.
- For some clients you will work as interim (sr) HR Business Partner / HR Advisor or HR Manager / HR Lead. This can be to cover for someone on leave, or until we have helped them fill those positions on a more permanent basis.
- You will lead projects on topics such as: compensation and benefits, career levels, salary frameworks, performance, growth, etc.
- You might be asked with (re)defining company values, improving culture, create and deliver training, support on employee cases, making things more efficient and fun!
- You'll also provide advice on how to best do onboarding and offboarding, select and implement new benefits and improve people operations.
- Implementing a new ATS or HRIS can also be part of a project, especially when the company doesn't have these in place yet.
Basically, any HR topic which might come up, you'll jump onto and help them do it the best way possible.

Job requirements
What we need you to bring
- ☑️ Relevant experience. You've worked as HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or HR Advisor. You've had a broad HR role, advising on all/most topics that come up in an HR department. For this role we expect 5-10 years of work experience. Being able to work directly with Founders / CEO and managers, you don't require much support.
- 🙋🏻♀️ You can scope and deliver People and Culture projects, by yourself. You don't need someone to daily oversee your work, but you know when to ask for help. You have worked with colleagues from people ops and recruitment before, and would be comfortable giving them instructions.
- 🦄 Experience gained at start-ups / scale-ups. Our clients move fast and look for practical solutions. You understand the phase they are in and the speed with which they work.
- 👩🏼💻 You are creative, tech-savvy and love innovation. You are always looking for new ways to work smarter and more efficient. When it comes to creating presentations or designing a visual process - you already know your way around in tools like Canva and Notion (or you are a very fast learner!)
- 🇳🇱 Knowledge of Dutch (employment law), able to advise on complex employee matters. Experience in an HR role in the Netherlands is a must, international experience is a plus. Speaking Dutch is highly preferred, but if you have a good understanding of Dutch it's also sufficient (due to UWV, Belastingdienst, boring Dutch government websites etc).
- ✍🏻 Writing & presentation skills. We write and present quite a lot (handbooks, frameworks, websites, job ads) for our clients.
