- On-site, Hybrid
- Amsterdam
- €4,400 - €5,700 per month
The ideal role if you love working with start-ups and scale-ups, helping them grow by providing solid HR advice across topics and becoming their go-to person for all people-related matters.
Job description
This is the ideal HR role if you're excited about helping various companies with their People & Culture needs. As a consultant with us, you will work with a diverse range of start-ups and scale-ups - and even some larger organizations. You will help them to grow and professionalise, by providing solid HR advice on a range of topics, and being their go-to People person.
About 7people:
We are a People and Culture consultancy, helping organizations to become irresistible. As builders at heart, we help fast-moving companies transition to their next phase. We help start-ups and scale-ups with growing or improving their company, by proving advice and support on all aspects of their employee journey and people strategy. We work with a number of great clients and, excitingly, we keep being asked for more - this is where you come in!
Your Role:
As a People and Culture Lead you will provide our clients with practical and impactful advice on their People & Culture processes - driving engagement and company performance. For some clients you will work as an Interim (Senior) HR Business Partner / HR Advisor or HR Manager / HR Lead, working with founders, managers and HR colleagues - this can be to cover for someone on leave, or until we have helped them fill those positions on a more permanent basis. No assignment is the same!
Here’s a general overview:
You will analyze the priorities of our client at the start of each assignment and define the action plan.
You will lead projects on topics such as; compensation and benefits, career levels, salary frameworks, performance, growth, etc.
You might be asked to (re)define company values, improve culture, create and deliver training, support on employee cases, implement a new ATS or HRIS etc.
You'll provide advice on how to best do onboarding and off-boarding, select and implement new benefits and improve people operations.
Basically, any HR topic which might come up, you'll jump onto and help them do it the best way possible - generally making things more efficient and fun!
What we need you to bring
☑️ Relevant HR experience: 5+ years’ experience, recently working as a HR Business Partner or HR Manager. You've had a broad HR role, advising on all/most topics that come up in a People & Culture department. You have experience in - and are confident about - working directly with Founders / CEO and managers, you don't require much support.
🙋🏻♀️ Independently scope and deliver People and Culture projects - you don't need someone to daily oversee your work, but you know when to ask for help. You have worked with colleagues from People Ops and Recruitment before, and would be comfortable giving them instructions.
🦄 Start-up and/or scale-up exposure - our clients move fast and look for practical solutions: you understand the phase they are in and the speed with which they work.
👩🏼💻 You are creative, tech-savvy and love innovation. You are always looking for new ways to work smarter and more efficient. When it comes to creating presentations or designing a visual process - you already know your way around in tools like Canva and Notion (or you are a very fast learner!)
🇳🇱 Knowledge of Dutch employment law is a must - that’s why we need to see experience in an HR role in the Netherlands. Dutch language skills are a big plus (due to UWV, Belastingdienst, boring Dutch government websites etc)., fluency in English is a must-have
✍🏻 Writing & presentation skills - we write and present quite a lot (handbooks, frameworks, websites, job ads) for our clients.
What we offer you in return:
Accelerate your career: This is a rare opportunity to fast-track your career in People and Culture, by working for a diverse range of exciting companies - as part of our super passionate team. You'll have the opportunity to grow into a Head of People role or into a specialist role. Everything is possible.

Salary: The range is €4400 - €5700 per month + holiday allowance. Where you 'sit' in this range depends on your experience. You can grow significantly within 7people's career framework, we have super a transparent salary model.
Commercial incentives: When happy clients extend their contract or you introduce us to new clients, you are rewarded for this each time with €500!
Travel reimbursement: actual travel costs home-office (bike, car or public transport).
Do something fun for yourself allowance: we give you €50 every month to spoil yourself.
Mobile phone allowance: €25 per month.
Lovely office in Amsterdam - where we work together, get inspired and enjoy the rooftop. We also work onsite for clients, which can be based anywhere in the Netherlands.
Top Tools; a MacBook, Bose noise-cancelling headset, and an excellent tech set up. We work in G-Suite, have large 2nd screens in the office, wireless everything, no internal emails - just Slack.
Leave: 5 weeks of annual leave, and a few extra days here and there to celebrate life.
Hours: a full time (5 days per week / 40 hours) role.
Hybrid role: we work onsite with our clients - and in our office - quite a bit, with some flexibility. Ideally you’d be in our (client’s) office 3 - 4 days per week.
Inspirational work environment: a place where you will learn faster than anywhere else. We strongly believe in continuous learning and help each other proactively to become better at what we do.
🇳🇱 LOCATION NOTE: You must be based in the Netherlands, without visa requirements. Unfortunately, we can't sponsor or relocate someone for this position. The location is Amsterdam, and the role requires working from on-site at our office as well as with our clients.
