Operations Lead (Business / People)

  • On-site
    • Amsterdam
  • €3,500 - €4,250 per month

A broad internal support role, with a focus on our business processes, our people and our finances. In this role you keep 7people running smoothly, enabling our team to work more efficiently.

Job description

We’re looking for an Operations Lead. This is a broad internal support role, with a focus on our business processes, our people and our finances. In this role you keep 7people running smoothly behind the scenes.

You enable our team to work more efficiently and focus on our primary goal: helping our clients become irresistible organizations.

(Our current Operations Lead (Yoon) goes on maternity leave. This role is initially to cover her leave, with the option stay or be extended. A strong interest in People Operations is a must.

Dates: 8 month contract from June 2026 to end-Jan 2027, with potential to extend. Starting in May can be discussed.

⭐️ How you will make impact

  • You are the secret engine room behind all of our internal business operations processes - finances, contracts, payroll, community management, marketing - pretty much anything that isn’t direct client HR work.

  • You’ll ensure everything runs seamlessly in the background, so things get paid, signed, organised and followed up correctly.

  • You’re also someone that loves the pace and energy of a start/scale-up, and can spot and action opportunities to continuously improve our processes as we grow.

  • It’s a great opportunity to help run a growing business/team, learn more about how that looks from a HR/People perspective, and do work that genuinely impacts all areas of the business.

You’ll report directly to our founder Ingeborg, and work closely with our full team of HR consultants. You are in daily contact with our suppliers, clients and broader community.

✅ Key Responsibilities

This is a very broad and autonomous role with a lot of ownership. You’ll be in the driving seat for your own workload, initiatives and processes - with plenty of collaboration and support where needed. It offers a good balance of structure and flexibility, admin and people-facing work.

There’s a few business-critical finance processes that need to be prioritised and handled accurately each month. Outside of these, you’ll be working directly with lots of different clients, ZZP-ers and suppliers on a huge variety of tasks - so no two days are the same!

Recurring monthly (finance, admin & payroll)

  • Invoicing - You’ll manage the entire client invoicing process end-to-end: drafting, reviewing and sending invoices, tracking and chasing outstanding payments, liaising with our team members, ZZP-ers, accountants and clients on all queries and admin.

  • Company expenses - Co-ordinate the processing of all company expenses info with our external accountants, ensuring all documents are correctly filed and shared on time, and liaising on queries.

  • People Operations - Manage our internal payroll administration, including salary mutations, expenses, payslip checks and basic payroll admin queries. You ensure contracts are extended timely, and onboarding as well as offboarding is smooth and fun. We work with BuddeeHR, so the actual payroll is done by an external party. You are responsible (together with our founder) for ensuring that the input from our side is correct.

  • You basically ensure everything admin and cost related gets processed accurately and on time.

Note: No specialist Dutch finance or payroll knowledge is needed, just good organisation and attention to detail. We work with external accountants who handle all the technical bookkeeping, payroll and tax matters.

Daily / ongoing

  • Contracts - Draft, manage and track contracts with our clients and ZZP-ers, including extensions and signatures. You’ll also handle any related queries and keep files organised.

  • Company finances - As well as the monthly finance processes above, you’ll handle all day-to-day company finance admin, like paying suppliers, resolving queries and managing our corporate accounts/subscriptions.

  • Community management - You’ll be the main contact for our clients, ZZP-ers, and suppliers on all finance/admin/operational queries topics, playing a key role in building and maintaining a strong relationship with our wider community.

  • Team support - You’ll also be the first internal point of contact for our team on all ‘general operational questions’ - e.g. helping with a technical issue in our tools, processing HRIS requests, or helping organise fun things for our team socials.

  • Systems & documentation: You’ll also help keep our Employee Handbook, Notion workspace, Canva and Drive systems well-organised, for everyone’s benefit!

There’s more! Office, Socials, Content and Events:
Depending on your capacity and interests, there’s also room to get involved in:

  • Content & marketing: Creating written and visual content and assets for our company LinkedIn, Instagram, newsletter, website, podcast, or general marketing. We love to let our team members get creative!

  • Process improvement: Optimising and improving our internal systems, tools and workflows, as we grow our team size and business capacity (particularly in Notion, Slack, Drive).

  • Office / Events management: Supporting our internal team and external marketing events (like our monthly People Community meet-ups), and helping create a great office environment for our current (and potential future) clubhouse.

💰 What we offer
An inspirational and warm work environment. A place where you will learn faster than anywhere else. We strongly believe in continuous learning and help each other proactively to become better at what we do.

  • Salary: The range is €3500 - €4250 per month + holiday allowance. Where you 'fit' in this range depends on your experience.

  • Annual Leave: 5 weeks of annual leave based on a fulltime role, and a few extra days here and there to celebrate life.

  • Hours: This is a full time (5 days per week / 40 hours) role. We are open to discuss 32 or 36 hours per week.

  • Travel reimbursement: actual travel costs home-office (car or public transport) if you live outside Amsterdam.

  • Do something fun for yourself allowance: €50 every month to spoil yourself.

  • Mobile phone allowance: €25 per month.

  • Tooling: A MacBook, noise-cancelling headset, and an excellent tech set up.

🇳🇱 LOCATION NOTE: You must be based in the Netherlands, without visa requirements. Unfortunately, we can't sponsor or relocate someone for this position. You need to be happy to work 5 days per week from Amsterdam, without too much travel time.

Job requirements

  • Relevant hands-on experience - Minimum 2+ years in business operations, people ops, finance, legal, office administration, or a similar role. You don’t need specialist knowledge or qualifications in these fields, but do need to be used to juggling multiple business-critical processes simultaneously and accurately handling lots of sensitive data in a fast-moving environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisation - You have a sharp eye for the little details and take pride in getting these right. You’ll often spot errors others might miss, and can anticipate process risks early. You love to bring structure to chaos, and can keep files and workflows methodically organised.

  • Resourceful, pragmatic ‘do-er’- You’re comfortable owning your work without daily supervision, but know when to ask for help. You’re confident liaising directly with clients and suppliers professionally and pragmatically to get things done. When something breaks (or can be improved), you proactively take initiative.

  • A great teammate - We take pride in being a small, close-knit team that love to grow and learn together. You’re someone who enjoys collaborating with and supporting others, adapts well to different communication and working styles, and freely shares ideas and knowledge to help us all boost our collective wisdom.

  • Someone creative, tech-savvy and curious - You’re great with Google Workspace, Canva, Notion, Slack and ChatGPT (or are a fast learner). You can pivot creatively to solve problems, enjoy experimenting with new tools and ideas, and love to keep learning and improving.

  • Excellent communication skills - You’ll be handling sensitive finance and client communications, drafting legally binding documents, giving clear internal operational instructions and representing the 7people brand externally with a wide variety of people. Fluency in English and good communication skills (in both speaking and writing) are crucial. Dutch would be beneficial.

  • Interest or experience in People & Culture/HR - we love nerding out about our HR work!
