Employee Relations Specialist | (Interim / Freelance)

We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist with a strong legal background and a knack for handling complex employee cases. You’re joining a dynamic global tech scale-up in the Netherlands and handle employee cases globally. This is a unique opportunity to impact a fast-paced, people-focused organization by supporting managers and employees through challenging situations.

💼 What You'll Do:
✨ Act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing guidance on sensitive employee relations matters such as terminations, performance management, and grievances for all of the hubs (global scope).
✨ Work closely with leadership to ensure empathetic, balanced decision-making that aligns with business goals.

✨ Provide expert advice on labor law and employee relations best practices. Experience with other countries is a plus.
✨ Handling Employee Relations cases end-to-end, independently and with sound judgment.
✨ Working closely with local counsel across jurisdictions on complex, cross-border situations

🧠 What you’ll bring (experience)
✅ You’re a seasoned Employee Relations specialist or Employment Law Counsel with a strong track record handling complex casework independently.
✅ Background in employment law or a legal/HR hybrid profile.

✅ A proactive problem-solver who can hit the ground running and deliver results.
✅ International experience: you're comfortable working across different employment landscapes and with local legal partners

✅ The ability to navigate sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

👉 What you can expect.

📍 Location: Amsterdam (hybrid - one day in office).
📅 Start: ideally between 1 August - 1 September.

⏰ Hours: 2 -3 days per week to start, scaling up after summer.
📄 Contract: +/-6 months (with option to extend).
